My son has fixed the problem created by the evil malware person/s( may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their tiny genitalia) and all the files that were hidden have now been restored to their rightful places.
And yes I am currently backing up to the max.
Let this be a lesson to us all.

Oh I am so happy and pleased for you! I had read the previous post and thought oh dear, I'll reply a little bit later when its not so raw - and just saw this update - yay! Yes back up back up back up is a pretty important mantra - I lost a full day's data entry a week or so ago and it depressed me no end. Breathe in, breathe out...go well!
this is why we have children, because computers really only like young people!!! so glad you are saved, and yes, i have an external h.d. that i backup regularly!
