Progress?, Sidetracked and a Giveaway

Here is what has happened so far

I know not a lot

A coat of cold wax medium mixed with turmeric powder

That is one sassy yellow
But it will of course disappear
under many more coats
I did a sample bit of turmeric to see
how it handles the light over time

But I did get sidetracked with some encaustic

And here
these are much bigger
30 x 30cm
or 12 x 12in

And as some of you have pointed out
I have reached the magic 100
Who knew that it would feel so good
So as promised there will be a giveaway
So leave a comment
you do not have to be a follower
I know I follow many more blogs than blogger will allow
and I will draw a winner
Next saturday
and then send off packet of goodies
including some teabags
of course

I had a lovely day today
I had a coffee in town with the lovely
I love meeting fellow bloggers
x te

Update: There may be a delay on the giveaway
as I have had to make an emergency trip to Perth
to spend the last few days
with my Mum.

I feel ever so guilty writing a comment for inclusion in a giveaway having been the recipient of your generosity in the past - but I still want to mark the moment with you! I love where the encaustic is going in these images - and so happy you had a real-time connection with Christina - such delight. Go well, and may many more follow...

Love the two encaustic panels, the elliptical shape is one that often appears in my own work.

Wish I could have joined you two for coffee! I haven't yet met a fellow blogger face to face, other than a few friends who blog. The tumeric yellow is indeed "sassy".

I love your blog, it's so inspiring. I am very curious to see if the tumeric mixed in the wax is light resistant. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed about the giveaway. :)

Count me in Trace... your treated and dyed papers are just fabulous for collaging. Checked out 'Mermaid In The Attic' lots of good stuff to keep me amused there.

I think tumeric is amazing - I'd love to grow some both to eat and to 'play' with (ps - congrats on 100)

You now have me saving my used tea bags! I'm sure that my guy isn't too happy about it..... he already has to live in the midst of fiber everywhere (including the frolicking dust bunnies!).
I love your encaustic works..... something new I should try? Or perhaps leave it all to you, you are so amazing with it!
hugs

I'm not a follower, haven't even been a reader until today, but since I just heard I might end up having you as my tutor for C-TAF Blue Mts, I thought it would be good to check you out. I do like what I see so far, and will explore more.
