And then there were Three

The Warm Fuzzies are multiplying

The front of journal no 2

the back

front
No 3 has got a little jazzy

back

I am thinking about putting these in the etsy shop
but without the journal inside for overseas postage
as to buy a journal would cost less
than the extra postage
what do people think
are they saleable like that?
or do I just keep them for locals?

Ok the warm and fuzzies are now available in my Etsy Shop

Market Day

Market Day in Denmark Western Australia and what a beautiful day it was
Unlike today which is cold wet and windy.

And this is my stall.
Yes that is me in there

Little egg and dye books

a little something in charcoal, milk paint and gum resin

Some more

and another one with a fringe of earrings

Little wrap books with gesso pages

Encaustic pieces

More encaustic pieces

And a large journal with paper pages using up some of the prints I made at uni
I had a great day met lots of people and renewed my acquaintance with others.
And made a few sales
Now to put some of the pieces that didn't sell in my Etsy Shop
though I think maybe not in time
to arrive before Christmas.
New Years gifts anyone?

Finally Maybe Something on Etsy

So I have made some stuff and I have taken some photos and I have written the story so whats the hold up you might ask? It looks like Etsy is down. So you all get to see it first, yes a special sneak preview. Here exclusively until the interknit fixes herself.

These are the latest wrap Journals featuring paper pages this time.

And these are a new item

Scarf Pins utilising old fashioned

knitting stitch holders.
As usual it is all natural dyes and all hand stitched.
Love to know what you think.

Bruny

My goodness has it really been that long since I posted? We had a great time on Bruny Island over Easter.

We camped at the neck which is the narrow strip that joins the 2 islands. This is the beach that Dan swam at twice a day and I collected shells with holes in them (so convenient for sewing on) and shell fragments that had been smoothed by the sea.

And this is a shot of the light house right down on the bottom of the south island. We managed to see most of the island in cluding the very nice new art gallery up at Dennes Point and we had a delicous lunch in their new cafe. Then on the way home we collected local produce, smoked salmon from BISH, oysters from Get Shucked, Cheese and bread from the Bruny Island Cheese company all washed down with a bottle of the local wine. I must say I do prefer my oysters cooked and they were delicious just popped onto the coals for a couple of minutes in their shells and then just a touch of lemon. Yum. I also found a huge currypunk fungus in the bush near where we were camped that someone had dumped so I am playing with it in the studio seeing what colours I can get and then I hope to make some paper.

Back home again and into the studio inspiration struck and I now have a lovely collection of encaustic pieces for sale, as well as a lovely purply knitted scarf and two new journals with hand stitched covers.

I hope to see lots of people tomorrow at the Barn Market in Rosny Park down near Hobart and then next weekend I will be in Melbourne hopefully at Ivanhoe and most definitely at the Makers Market.

In the Studio

Brand new journal off to market tomorrow. THis is one of 4 and they are all different. So a front cover done with milk paints, ink and beeswax medium.

Inside I have include pieces of old prints from Uni and TAFE. This is screenprinting with lace.

More screen printing, though this is a little more restrained.

A combo deal, this even includes a small piece of my poetry. This may not be considered a bonus!!

The handstitched spine.

And now a sneak peak at some of the paintings I have been working on. I am teaching a workshop at the end of April in the techniques I use, I though I best do some paintings and pay attention maybe even make some notes!!!!!

If you look closely you can see the form of a nest/basket in this one done with the starch paste. This one is actually finished now and is much darker and I cleaned the nest/basket so it is a lovely creamy colour in contrast. And of course it has been waxed and buffed up to a lovely sheen. This one is 12 x 12in or 30 x 30cm. Best think of a name and then she will be up for sale. Now that I have my canvas stretchers I will making my own supports with hemp canvas and they will just that little bit closer to being ecologically sound.

And two bubby paintings. 6 x 6in or 15 x 15cm.

Another biggie, this one also is finished now and you can see the 3 little eggs/seeds in the bottom of the bowl.
But now it is the weekend and I have a market to prepare for.
Civic Homespun in Launceston this weekend but next sunday I will be in Melbourne at the Sunday Arts @ the Coinvent in Abbotsford. Hope to see you there.
