Studio + Eggy Distractions
Things are really starting to come together now Dan has hung the bee frames in the window as you can see I still have one to finish and tables are now up |
Pictures are going up on the shelf But we wont put the picture hooks on the top rail till the end 3 more boxes of art waiting to be opened |
The clothes rack is up and Mabel is dressed The wall behind Mabel will also be hung with paintings |
The cabinet is full |
My work area is looking a little better but I do keep getting distracted |
By things like this Inspired by a blogspost from the awesome Susan Bowers |
I had a little play with some egg and some ink |
I do like the results I did some other eggy playing which I hope to show you tomorrow x te |

More Studio Assemblage
The entrance to the studio complete with netting to keep out the swallows My actual space is up the back to the right out of sight |
and this is what it looks like now that Dan has filled it in with a big glass sliding door |
Inside still needing some work but there is now some naturally dyed silk curtains up to screen off the back section where Dan's stuff is kept |

Open Studio
This is the cover of the sample book I have been working on |
It is composed prinicaply of teabags and a semi transparent paper I have Fully transparent when covered in wax |
I am exploring different ways of working with them |
Some are fully covered with the teabag and some only partially |
Some feature Xanthorrhoea Resn |
each has the page cut out behind them so I can see the light coming through |
Stitch |
As I am working on a series that will be framed in old bee frames |
I love the detail |
when I view them placed in front of a window |
But the detail changes when the light is removed |
Giving a whole different look at night |
The reason for all this activity is the upcoming Great Southern Art Trail for which I will be opening my studio to the public More details shortly Above pigments and resin ready for sale |
